What is Psychotherapy?


Psychotherapy is the application of psychology in the treatment of disorders of a psychological nature. Relaxation techniques are sometimes used and taught. Techniques such as Guided Imagery, are used to bring to the surface the underlying reasons for the disorder, thereby allowing the client to learn ways of dealing with it.

Psychotherapy can be used to resolve problems quite quickly, but it is pointed out that the degree of co-operation from the client and the depth of the problem, dictates the length of time necessary to resolve a problem to a clients satisfaction. It is not unusual for both Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy to bring some relief after the first session.
